The Game of Strife

December 2023
‘The Game of Strife’ is a boardgame concept I developed for my University Pre- Major Project. Parodying the popular American boardgame ‘The Game of Life’, it acts as a humorous critique of capitalist optimism.

Nigel Character Jug

May 2024

Nigel, created as part of my Major Project 'The Local'.

This project centres around British pub culture, particularly the specific type of hostility that the regulars extend to non-locals. It aims to satirise the shameless staring, antagonistic mumblings and unwavering entitlement of the regulars and immortalise them through the form of a Toby Jug. Toby Jugs and Character Jugs are representative of a bygone age of public houses, collecting dust as a permanent, ornamental fixture of the pub environment- not too dissimilar to the locals themselves.

Pier Journal Cover Competition Submission

April 2024

Pier is an independent community journal celebrating the creative culture of Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. This is my personal responce to the theme of ‘Summer’for their 8th edition, inspired by summer afternoons spent chasing icecream vans.

Although my design was not chosen for the cover, my illustration was featured alongside an article discussing our shared nostalgia for rocket lollies, screwballs and the infamous nobbily bobbily.
